Payment Instructions
Upon successful submission of your application, the system automatically generates a Payment Registration Number (PRN) through its integration with the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) payment system. The PRN is sent to the email address provided during your application.
Step 1: Retrieve Your PRN
- Open the email account used when submitting your application.
- Locate the email containing your application payment details and PRN.
- Check your Spam or Junk folder if the email is not in your inbox.
- Copy the PRN or download the payment slip.
Important: You do not need to generate another PRN through the URA portal. Use the PRN automatically generated by the REQIMS application system.
Step 2: Pay Using Your Preferred Payment Method
Option A: MTN Mobile Money
- Dial
*165*18#or*165#. - Select URA Payments (under Fees and Taxes, where applicable).
- Select Pay with PRN.
- Enter the PRN received by email.
- Verify the payment amount and details.
- Confirm payment using your Mobile Money PIN.
MTN's dedicated URA payment shortcode is *165*18#.
Option B: Airtel Money
- Dial
*185#. - Select Pay Bill.
- Select URA.
- Select Pay Registered / With PRN.
- Enter your PRN.
- Verify the payment details.
- Confirm payment using your Airtel Money PIN.
Follow the displayed menu prompts if option numbers differ.
Option C: Bank Payment
- Visit a bank that supports URA payments.
- Present the PRN received by email or your payment slip.
- Inform the teller that you are paying an NCHE Recognition/Equation application fee through URA.
- Confirm the payment details and amount.
- Make payment and retain the receipt.
URA accepts PRN-based payments through participating banks.
Step 3: Confirm Your Payment
After completing payment:
- Retain your Mobile Money confirmation message or bank payment receipt.
- Log in to the NCHE Recognition and Equation application system.
- Check your application or payment status.
- Allow time for the payment to be verified through the URA integration.
- If payment is successful but your application still shows unpaid, contact NCHE support with your application reference, PRN and proof of payment.
Important Information
- Do not generate a new PRN manually. The PRN is automatically generated upon successful submission of your NCHE application.
- Pay the exact amount associated with your PRN.
- Do not make a second payment if the first transaction was successful but the application status has not yet updated.
- If the PRN has expired or is invalid, contact NCHE for guidance on obtaining a valid PRN.
- Keep your PRN and payment receipt for future reference.
